The Plant Protein Innovation Center is excited to finally announce that registration is now open for our Protein Basics Short Course 2023 (March 27 -28th, 2023) and our 4th Annual Research Spotlight Meeting (March 29-30th, 2023).
-
PPIC’s Protein Basic Short Course features speakers from both industry and academia to discuss current and upcoming market trends, give an overview on food proteins, provide basic protein chemistry, cover production of protein ingredients, introduce protein modification for enhanced functionality, highlight challenges and opportunities when formulating with plant proteins, and more. The course will feature live demonstrations and experiences in the PPIC test kitchen as well as the UMN Pilot Plant and analytical laboratories.

The 4th Annual Research Spotlight meeting is evolving just as our Center is. The meeting is now a day and a half, showcasing research that is actively being done in the plant protein space. In addition to presentations from researchers, there will be a special presentation by The Hartman Group on Consumer Trends. This year’s Spotlight meeting will also feature, not one, but two panel discussions from industry representatives. The first panel discussion, on March 29th, will focus on plant protein based food products. And on March 30th our second panel will be on plant protein ingredients. The event also includes an interactive poster session with the opportunity to speak with students and researchers directly. There will be a number of networking opportunities to connect with potential collaborators, customers, partners, and fellow plant protein aficionados.
